Chairman of the Board, Founding Partner

George Huntzinger is the founder of The Huntzinger Management Group, Inc., and its current Chairman, where he guides the strategic direction of the company. Mr. Huntzinger’s 45-plus years of healthcare experience provides him with a unique perspective on industry trends that impact Huntzinger’s clients.

Prior to founding The Huntzinger Management Group, Mr. Huntzinger was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Superior Consultant Holdings Corporation. Prior to that position, he was the President of CSC Healthcare for almost 13 years.

Mr. Huntzinger has held board positions at several organizations including Misericordia University, the Great Valley Technology Alliance, and LiquidHub. He is a Gold Member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and a Member of the World President’s Organization, Detroit Chapter. Mr. Huntzinger holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Marketing Management from the University of Delaware, and an Associate’s degree in Business Finance from Susquehanna University.

Robert S. Kitts

Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner

Robert Kitts has more than 25 years of experience working with providers, payors and technology companies to help them increase the value they can attain from utilizing appropriate technology. As the CEO of Huntzinger, Kitts works with the company’s partners to establish and implement strategies to grow the business, expand service offerings that continually meet or exceed client expectations, and evolve third-party relationships. Along with his executive role, Kitts provides Huntzinger with specific expertise relative to IT strategy, total cost of system ownership, and software contracting.

In previous positions, Kitts has served as a Vice President at Superior Consultant/ACS Healthcare Solutions where he was instrumental in mergers and acquisitions while continuing to work directly with clients. Other past positions include being a Regional Director at Health Systems Design, and the Director of Managed Care for Integrated Medical Systems.

Kitts is an active member of the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Computer Science, from Wagner College.

Tanya J. Freeman

President and COO, Founding Partner

Tanya Freeman brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience to Huntzinger’s executive team. As President, COO and a founding partner of Huntzinger, Freeman is responsible for overall operations of the company, including direct oversight of all client delivery management activities. While versed in all aspects of healthcare information technology, she offers Huntzinger and its clients exceptional expertise regarding IT strategy, governance, staffing, and system implementations.

Freeman has held numerous executive and leadership positions at various health systems and organizations, including CIO, Vice President and Hospital Administrator and Director of Health Information Management and Quality Assessment. Prior to founding Huntzinger, Freeman was a Vice President at Superior Consultant Company/ACS Healthcare Solutions where she was instrumental in operating their IT services outsourcing business and developing and managing consulting practices. Her experience in hospital operations combined with health information technology expertise and large complex project management enables Freeman to provide clients with an exceptionally balanced approach to addressing their IT challenges.

Freeman holds a Master’s of Science and Administration degree focused on Financial Management from Central Michigan University, and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Medical Record Administration from Ferris State University.

William C. Reed, PhD

Executive Vice President, Partner

With 40 years of experience across multiple healthcare settings, William Reed, PhD, expands Huntzinger’s leadership with his deep knowledge in healthcare information technology and operations. As a Huntzinger partner, Reed divides his time between business development and delivery management. In addition to company and client responsibilities, he provides specific domain leadership and expertise related to informatics, analytics, and patient portals.

During his healthcare career, Reed has served as the CIO of Geisinger Health System, Quantum Health Resources, Gentiva Health Services, and held informatics roles at several other organizations. Highlights of Reed’s previous positions include being the President and CEO of AllOne Health Group, and the Executive Vice President and COO of BlueCross of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Additionally, Reed has served as an adjunct faculty member at several universities.

Reed is a Life Fellow, past president, and past Board member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS); a Fellow, founding board member, and past president of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME); and a past executive in the Healthcare Information Systems Executives Association (HISEA). Reed was named healthcare CIO of the year in 1995 by HIMSS and CHIME when he was awarded the John E. Gall, Jr., CIO Award, and honored, in 2010 by HIMSS, as one of the top 50 individuals who influenced the organization’s development.

Reed completed his doctorate in Information Systems from the College of Engineering and Computing at Nova Southeastern University. He also holds a Master’s of Science degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Drexel University.

Nancy Ripari

Executive Vice President, Partner

Nancy Ripari brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience to the Huntzinger leadership team. As a Huntzinger partner, Ripari focuses on delivery management and Huntzinger’s technical infrastructure. Besides her role as partner, Ripari leads Huntzinger’s areas of technology and security management.

Before joining Huntzinger, Ripari was a Senior Vice President at ACS Healthcare Provider Solutions and Superior Consultant Company. Prior to her work with Superior, Ripari was a Senior Vice President at CareTech Solutions, and previously the Director, Operations and Technical Services at Oakwood Healthcare.

Ripari is a Six Sigma Black Belt and is also certified in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices. She is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and a Fellow of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).

David DiChiara
David DiChiara
Chief Financial Officer

David DiChiara has more than 17 years of financial management experience and is responsible for all aspects of Huntzinger’s financial function, with a primary focus on strategic management, market performance, and driving value for shareholders.

Prior to joining Huntzinger, DiChiara spent more than 10 years with Chrysler Financial managing a multi-million-dollar automobile wholesale portfolio in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. In addition, he was responsible for managing a portfolio of revolving lines of credit along with capital, construction, and real estate loans.

DiChiara is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He holds a Master’s of Business Administration in Finance from Iona College and a Bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University. DiChiara is an active member of the community, serving on the finance councils for local non-profit groups, and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and an active member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).

Heather Clark
Heather Clark
Chief Administrative / Human Resource Officer

Heather Clark joined Huntzinger in 2008 tasked with building its infrastructure and processes for growth. As one of its first employees, she takes enormous pride in the company and its long-term success. She currently serves as the Chief Administrative / Human Resource Officer spearheading multiple critical functions including Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and day-to-day business operations and infrastructure. Her leadership includes risk management, employee relations, policy and process, benefits and compensation, legal and contractual compliance and performance management.

Heather holds several board and leadership positions. She serves as the President and Board of Director of the NEPA Society of HR Management and as a member of the PA SHRM State Council. In her roles with SHRM, she has led various committees including DE&I and Workforce Development amongst others. She serves as a Board of Director for Skills in Scranton, a workforce development affiliate of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of Leadership Wyoming and an advocate in her community supporting programs such as the Food Emergency Distribution Program (FED) and serving on the Board of Education for her local school district. She has served as an SME and adjunct professor for the development and teaching of courses at the university level. Heather has a passion for leadership development, communication, mentorship, and long-term talent engagement and success.

Heather earned a Master’s of Science in Organizational Management and Human Resources from Misericordia University in Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Marywood University in Pennsylvania. She is a Senior Certified Human Resource Professional (SHRM-SCP), a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and a member of the National Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She holds several other certifications including Business Communications, Veterans at Work, Inclusive Workplace Culture, and Workplace Mental Health.

Aaron Wootton

Chief Digital Officer

Aaron Wootton brings more than 20 years of experience working with health information technology. As the Chief Digital Officer for Huntzinger, Wootton leads the areas of consumer-facing digital, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and telemedicine and specializes in developing organizational analytic capabilities as the supporting structure for digital transformation.

During his healthcare career, Wootton has served as the CIO of Concord Hospital, VP & CIO of Allegiance Health, and as Regional CIO Central Market within Henry Ford Health. In his most recent role as CIO of Concord Hospital, he successfully created a system-wide governance structure and maturity model for Concord’s digital front door capabilities, guiding the planning and implementation. During his time with Henry Ford, Wootton held responsibility for the enterprise analytics function across the health system.  Throughout his career, he has had a particular focus on value-based care, analytics and health information exchange, including serving as the CEO of the Community Health Technology Network, an organization in Michigan dedicated to delivering technology services that aid in improving the health of communities. Wootton also led all IT joint ventures during his time at Henry Ford Health, giving him a unique understanding of how to position non-traditional healthcare partners to deliver on specialized care models while preserving systemness.

Wootton is a member of CHIME and holds certifications as a Chief Digital Health Executive (CDH-E) and CHCIO. He has a Bachelor’s in Management of Information Systems and a Master’s in Business Administration from Cleary University. Wootton has served on a number of boards and committees throughout his career, including the Board of Michigan Health Information Network (MIHIN), Chair of the MIHIN cyber security committee, and Chair of Truveta’s Data Integration Committee.

Stephanie Wallace

Vice President of Sales Operations

Stephanie Wallace’s 25-plus years of experience in healthcare information technology and staffing enables her to deliver a collaborative approach when partnering with clients. At Huntzinger, Wallace focuses on business development, client acquisition and relationship management.

Before joining Huntzinger, Wallace’s work focused on providing both contract and permanent healthcare IT staffing resources to organizations. These positions include being a Regional Sales Manager for Greythorn Healthcare IT, and an Area Vice President for MedSys Group. Wallace’s healthcare IT solutions sales experience include being the Senior Sales Executive at Origin Healthcare Solutions, and Healthcare Sales Director at MedQuist. Her early career included working as a medical transcription manager, which evolved into being the National Sales Director/Transcription Operations Manager for Diskriter, and later being the Vice President of Sales for CTech.

Wallace is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and was recently named the Director of Membership and Community Outreach for the Western Pennsylvania HIMSS Chapter. She holds an Associate of Science degree in Medical Terminology/Information Technology from ITT Technical Institute-Pittsburgh. In addition, Wallace is Miller Heiman Certified in Strategic Selling and Large Account Management.

Terry Shackelford

Sales Director

Terry Shackelford has over 20 years of experience in healthcare information technology and staff augmentation where he has formed great partnerships with his clients. Terry has worked with clients of all sizes, from large scale integrated health delivery networks to standalone community hospitals.

At Huntzinger, Terry serves as the Sales Director where he focuses on business development and client acquisition across the United States.

Prior to Huntzinger, Terry’s focused on helping people as a personal trainer. In 2003, he started his career in healthcare staffing with Staff Care, becoming the most productive account manager in company history. In 2012, Terry began his journey in healthcare information technology, providing contract staffing, revenue cycle support and advisory services. He has held positions as a Regional Account Director for Medsys Group, Account Executive for himagine solutions, Client Services Director for Divurgent, Vice President of Business Development for HealthmarkIT, and Director of Client Services for 314e. Terry has also worked as Vice President of Sales for Veriswift, an emerging background screening solution, helping businesses and staffing agencies screen potential hires. This diverse background helps Terry understand complex problems and lead his clients to optimal solutions.

Terry is a member of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Performance from Minnesota State University at Mankato.

Justin Stefano

Sales Director

Justin Stefano’s has over 15 years of experience in healthcare information technology and staff augmentation where he delivers a shared approach when partnering with clients.  Justin has worked with a diverse client roster from large scale integrated health delivery networks to free standing community hospitals.

At Huntzinger, Justin serves as the Sales Director where he focuses on business development and client acquisition across the United States.

Prior to joining Huntzinger, Justin’s work focused on providing contract staffing and electronic health record consulting to various healthcare providers. These positions included a Regional Account Executive for Medsys Group, Client Services Director at Divurgent and Vice President of Talent Strategy at NAS Recruitment Innovation. Stefano’s healthcare IT solution sales experience include the Vice President of Business Development for Hayes Management Consulting and  Sales Director for ePreop where he focused on the patient experience up to the day of surgery.

Stefano is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Justin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Penn State University.

Kathi Goovert
Kathi Goovert
Managing Director

Kathi Goovert is a healthcare management professional with more than 20 years of healthcare executive, clinical and financial leadership experience. She works directly with clients to resolve their IT and process challenges, ranging from developing and implementing IT roadmaps, to serving as an interim executive for clients. Goovert’s work also includes conducting application selections and clinical workflow analyses, as well as managing large, complex implementation and upgrade initiatives.

In her previous positions, Goovert was an Account Executive with Computer Science Corporation, and a Vice President and Executive Director at ACS Healthcare Solutions. Goovert’s experience also includes being an Executive Director at Superior Consultant Company.

Goovert is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). She holds a Master’s of Business Administration from Walsh College, and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from Michigan State University. Goovert is also a Certified Medical Technologist (MT-ASCP).

Gerry Maroney

Managing Director

Gerry Maroney has 30 years of operational delivery experience in information technology with the last 25 years focused specifically in the healthcare industry, where he has provided interim executive leadership, consulting and strategic planning services. At Huntzinger, Maroney provides interim executive leadership, client relationship development and strategic planning.

Before joining Huntzinger, Maroney held multiple executive-level positions at large, publicly traded companies such as Xerox, ACS, and Superior Consultant Holdings Corporation. Maroney developed, deployed and managed a centralized domestic and an international healthcare-specific IT support program for a variety of healthcare organizations across the country.

Maroney was president and co-founder of a successful voice and data communications company and attended Susquehanna University.

Tom Fleming
Tom Fleming
Client Executive

Tom Fleming, PMP has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare environment. As a Client Executive for Huntzinger, Fleming develops and grows client relationships while leading his delivery teams to achieve the highest levels of clinician and operational staff engagement and software adoption.

Starting as a mainframe programmer in 1998 on a Y2K project, Fleming has experience in revenue cycle, clinical ancillary and financial software. With extensive knowledge in implementing, optimizing and supporting EHRs, Fleming switched to working with Epic in 2010 as an ambulatory analyst and has primarily worked on Epic implementations and optimizations since. Fleming is PMP-certified and has strong project management, organizational and time management skills.

Fleming is Epic-certified in EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Ambulatory Order Transmittal Masters, Chronicles Install Utility, Hyperspace Configuration, MyChart, Cadence, Prelude and Hospital Outpatient Department. Fleming received his B.A. with Distinction in Theater Design and Technology from Purdue University with a Certificate of Programming in the Computer Career Program from DePaul University.

Jen Halikman
Jen Halikman
Client Executive

Jen Halikman brings a diverse portfolio of both clinical and healthcare information technology experience to Huntzinger. As a client executive, Jen leverages her more than 20-year career as a hospital pharmacist and informaticist to effectively empower healthcare IT teams to create customer- and patient-focused outcomes that utilize technology-based processes and products.

Equipped with both technical and clinical knowledge of hospital/ambulatory EHR ecosystems and integration, Jen advanced to a career in healthcare IT in various roles including a systems analyst, integration architect and, most recently, as an IT Director of Applications for a regional health system in southern Florida. This diverse clinical and technical experience affords Jen the ability to guide and operate within cross-functional healthcare teams in system-wide design, build, training, implementation and support.

Halikman holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Rutgers University and a Masters of Medical Informatics from Northwestern University. Additionally, Jen has completed several training courses for Epic Willow and has worked extensively in multiple healthcare enterprises with Oracle Cerner Millennium.

Client Executive

M. Scott Matthews has served the healthcare industry for over 32 years with 22 years of IT and 17 years of Epic experience. As a Client Executive for Huntzinger, Scott brings all his knowledge and experience to the forefront to help maximize technology for the improved delivery of patient care.

Matthews spent his first 10 years in healthcare as an auditor, data analyst, cost accountant and decision support specialist. During the past 22 years, Matthews has worked in information services and technology as a systems analyst, manager, director and as a consultant working with organizations throughout the United States. Matthews champions both communication and collaboration as two of the key tools needed for success with strategic, application, technical and implementation efforts at any organization. Achieving worthwhile goals for employees, organizations and the patients our healthcare industry serves is the motivating factor that drives his creativity, compassion and intensity with which he approaches each and every day.

Matthews holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Tyler, has served as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and completed several training courses from the Epic Systems Corporation in Verona, WI, including once holding certifications in ADT/Prelude Comprehensive (Grand Central) and Reporting Workbench Report Writing and Administration (RWB).

Maggie Dudacek

Marketing Manager

Maggie Dudacek brings a fresh perspective to Huntzinger. Before her time at Huntzinger, her marketing efforts were dedicated to the agriculture and motorsports industries. As the Marketing Manager for Huntzinger, Maggie focuses on external and internal communications as well as developing relationships with prospective clients, third-party vendors and industry organizations such as KLAS, CHIME and HIMSS.

Maggie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics as well as a Masters of Agribusiness from the University of Georgia.
